§ 56-23. Definitions.

  • The following words, when used in this article, shall have the meanings hereinafter ascribed to them, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Service pipe shall mean any pipe which is installed for the purpose of connecting the water mains to the individual premises where the water conveyed therein is to be consumed.

    Water main shall mean all that part of the water distribution system which is located within the right-of-way lines of several streets and alleys, other than easements on private property, which is the property of the city or held and controlled by the city for the purpose of supplying water to the inhabitants thereof or for the purpose of fighting fire.
