§ 10-29. Dog bites, destruction of dog.

  • Whenever any dog bites or attacks any person without molestation and while outside the enclosure of the owner or keeper, complaint shall be made to the district court against the owner or keeper, and upon conviction, the district court, in addition to any other penalties provided herein, may issue an order, in writing, directing the owner or keeper of the dog to kill the dog within six hours after service of such order on the owner or keeper and it thereupon becomes a duty of the owner or keeper to kill the dog. If the owner or keeper shall fail or refuse to kill said dog, it shall be the duty of any policeman to seize and kill such dog wherever it is found in the city.
